They don't make a round limiter for a 30 round magazine that'll drop it down to ten rounds do they?

If you're trying to make a hunting mag out of a 30-rounder, just cut a block of wood and put it in the bottom of the mag under the spring.

Why not just buy a 5 or 10 rounder for a specific task. Cutting and hacking on a perfectly good 30 rounder is a waste of a good mag and time IMO.

Since you are in Kalipornia (home of the sexually deviant politician, or is that redundant?), it may be best if you buy the appropriate mag (5rd, 10rd) since the laws on using it for hunting likely require the mag be PERMANTELY restricted to the number of rounds. Having a block of wood in the mag may not fit the definition of "permanent" since a few seconds with a small screwdriver or bullet point can change the capacity. Court cost would far exceed the cost of the real thing.

Where I live, 5 round mags are required (hi-cap ban). We usually modify them by using a pop rivet at the point where the follower will stop at 5, about 2 inches from the top. Yuck. Or as stated before, a plug inside the mag, with the baseplate fastened by rivet. The problem is that it still looks like an "evil" thirty rounder, so it may invite unwanted attention. I just use the Bushmaster 5 rounders.

SAW sells the old colt limit block for the 20's.

I would just buy a lower profile 5 round mag.
