I just bought this baby.  It cost me 1,099.00 bucks.  Please tell me I didn't pay to much.  I was going to add pics, but can't figure it out.  If someone could help me out I will add pics.

Yikes, you could buy a Kolt for that.

I'm sorry... I just can't get over that.

Wow...

$1,099.00 on an RRA. You could damn near buy 2 of those for maybe a little more if you look hard enough.

Gaaaaaaaaaaawd. Seriously RRA-Ryan, that rifle better be fookin' perfect. And it better give you sex at night.

It has the surefire tatical hand guard.  Flip up sights, and the tatical flash suppressor.  It came with two 30 round magazines, and a tatical nylon case.

Well... I suppose the Surefire Handguards were the reason it got bumped up that high...

Depending on who made the flip up sights, that could bring it up several hundred.

it says gg&g Tuc, AZ.  I have purchased a few guns from this guy.  He said some other things were done on the trigger, but i couldn't remeber it all.  I'm kinda feeling like I might have been shafted.  I priced out some of the noticable stuff online and I thought it was a good deal.  I guess you have to lean the hard way.

It's called Doug Shoot N' Sports in Salt Lake City.  He had a bunch of cheaper stuff, and looked at most of them.  The trigger feel, sight, and all around feel was much better with this one.  I wanted to get a Mini 14, but he talked me out of it.  It wasn't all that hard actually

If you got Surefire hand guards and a flip up rear sight you did so-so. Lets see a picture of it and then we can let you know for sure but you may not want to hear the answer. Where did you buy it from? From now on look here in the Equipment Exchange first NOOB!!!!!! The noob part was just a joke

I have pics, but I'm not sure how to post them.  Do you have to have a paid membership?
Link Posted: 12/27/2005 7:16:15 PM EDT
[#12]
No you don't have to have a paid membership. There are a few threads about how to post pictures.

Image shack is the photo server I use. It is very easy but you first must shrink the photo down (at least I do).

Why does the title say "with pic", when I see no pic.....

Upload your pic to imageshack.com, then post it here.

I agree with Stickman......no pics = no proof!

I don't think $1099.00 is too much for a RRA if it's not a standard configuration.  I just paid $1043.25 for mine.  I have the Elite CAR A4 with SureFire tactical rail handguard, chrome lined barrel and RRA Dominator EOTech mount.

I estimate that as about $300-400 over what you should have paid.  I can't assess the condition and have no idea how many rounds have been fired or what the parts composition is.

Yes, you paid too much, especially for a used rifle.

Sorry to say that, but it's part of the learning experience.  Many on this board have probably learned the same lesson. (Including me)

Looks good, and while you didn't get the best price in the world, next time you know to come ask FIRST before you make a decision.

Everyone starts somewhere, and the point is that you still have a nice carbine, and that is what really counts.

Yes you overpaid especially if the rifle is used. But it shouldn't hurt to bad when you sit down. You gor a few nice accessories with it and it looks like a nice rifle. Next time you need to look here on this site for whatever you need.

Shit, it's a little big.  And as far as the price....you did okay, don't feel ripped off for what you got.

Here you go Ryan.

How much would this rifle cost new with the stuff that is added?  I think I might have to call the gun shop tomorrow.  Probably won't do any good.

[#25]
Was it sold to you as new, or used? I'm curious because of the amout of brass on your shell deflector....

It's used.

New, the gun is around $800 and then add $160 for the rails and $100 for the flip up sight.
I wouldnt feel bad about it though.  It seems like you got a decent rifle.  Just remember to do a little of your own research before your next rifle.

Here's a new RRA tactical for $850:

Your rifle looks like it was someones's baby and appears to have good parts, but there can be significant price fluctuations.

I wouldn't bother with calling the shop as I am sure they won't help you out now. You got a nice rifle for a little more than you should have paid but you didn't do bad. Next time ask here then buy but this is your first post.

It's one of those things.  I didn't notice this website until after I bought the rifle.  I think when I saw it I was a little excited.  Time to go out and play.

By the way is Rock River a good brand?  I have heard it's as good or better than most.

I have 3 AR15's and although I could have bought whatever brand I desired I have built them with RRA parts. I love their fit and finish and for the price you can't beat them. There are some that say other brands are more milspec etc but RRA's are nice.

RRA is a good brand, dont worry about that.

Looks like you got yourself a fine rifle. My opinion it can be worth it to pay a bit more to be able to handle the rifle first and take it home that day, as opposed to ordering one, going through all the mailing and FFL transfers and blah. I prefer Bushmasters, but RRA makes a fine weapon. You will enjoy it.

RRA-Ryan -  I think most of us have overpaid for things at one point or another.

Knowledge is power.

I'm always amazed walking gun shows at the prices I see - good, bad and outrageous.    How do I know?   Experience & research.

So, ya paid a little extra for a good rifle.   Over the long haul, it doesn't matter much.    Just be smart about future purchases, research here for pricing info.

Welcome aboard.

Sounds like you paid retail ....  The range I shoot at had the same one for $1099 ...  You could have gotten it less than $900 on the EE board ...

Just amoratize the cost over the years you will use that fine rifle. Thats what I do when I pay too much! But seriously, you only overpaid by a small amount. Now you've joined the site with all the information you will ever need. Good luck. What's your next AR going to be?
