mechanical accuracy doesn't change with barrel length.

Rigidity and sight radius do change with length. Each can be a factor, but they are battling against each other. The longer sight radius will win every time over the slight increase in rigidity a shorter barrel of the same diameter will give you. |

shorter barrels are stiffer and sight radius can be increased without adding barrel length or you could cheat and use a telescope

The question can be posed two ways.
The longest barrel you can deal with or the shortest barrel that delivers the ballistics you want with acceptable blast, flash and sight radius. Forget all that. Just go with cool factor. Three inch barrel. Merry Christmas |
