I like the "iShot" SERT case. Its a soft one.. but Its "Modular" so I have different pouches in mine and it comes with a 3 x Magazine pouch.
Its sturdy enough for my needs. Its not Floppy at all. Give it a look. Zero |

To be honest, I carry mine wrapped up in an old Mexican blanket. I have been looking at the soft nylon cases with the mag pouches. I would like something a little better than my blanket, especially when I have a scope mounted.

I use a MaxPedition Silver nylon case for my 16" M4A3. It's held up so far, and I like it.

I use 55 gallon trash bags, or nondescript duffel bags, bc I don't want the people in my subdivision catching on that I own firearms. I wouldn't want to come home from work one day and see that they've been stolen. All of my range bags are tool bags, like those made by Irwin.
Although, that Maxpedition case looks pretty slick. |

I use an Allen "assault rifle" case for my 20" and a Kodiak Tracker series for my two carbines. They are cordura nylon, mag pouches and storage pouches on outside, HD zippers and shoulder strap. They seem to be very well made so far, I prefer the Kodiak over the Allen. I don't keep them in there full time as they are in the safe if they are not being shot. Both cases can be had for under $50 at Gander Mountain. IIRC the Allen was $29 and the Kodiak was $39.

I noticed that you didnt get alot of help with HARD cases.
I will be getting a Pelican sometime after the 1st of Jan. Pelican is what we used to go "Across the Pond" They are Solid. They have a nice line for ARs. Check out thier website. Pricey.. but you always get what you pay for. Buy Cheap... get Cheap. (Sometimes) Good Luck Zero |

Unless flying, I simply use any ol plastic case that you can buy at gun or sporting goods store for $25.
I can't believe some just HAVE to have the uber-tactical rifle case......

Seriously, down here is rural MO everyone carries their guns just leaned against the seat with the buttstock in the floorboard and barrel UP.hock.gif Gotta grab the barrel if you take a curve too hard or it could end up in the floorboard or pointed at YOU. |

First, let me give a big "thumbs up" to the Maxpedition cases. I've had two thus far and I think they're hard to beat in terms of bang for the buck.
As far as hard cases go, I've had very good luck with an el-cheapo "Guardforce" case. I put my bull-barreled AR in it and I like the case because I can abuse it without any qualms. It's done a perfectly adequate job of protecting my rifle. This link shows one similar to the one that I have, though not exactly the same.

+1! I was going to say "in my car", but I like yours better. I've wasted a LOT of money on varios accesorys, including, but not limited to cases, the only things I still use is (1) weapon mounted light, (2) top mount patrol ready sling, (3) USGI  magazines, (4) bore snake & tooth brush, clp & a few other small cleaning things. All of my cases, hard & soft, are stroon around on the floor in my cabin.

Starlight and Pelican are both very nice. I have a bunch of starlight cases from when Sams had them for $65. The problem with them is that they are so big. I can easily put two carbines in them, but a lot of the time I want something smaller, so I use one the the soft cases I got from Sportsmans Guide for $18. If you look at the hard cases, see if you can find something just big enough to fit your gun in, at least that is my .02.

I carry mine in a business attache case, along with an Aimpoint and and ACOG, 6 magazines, 2 barrels, vertical foregrip, patrol sling, and a weaponlight.
But, mine is a takedown model based on an MGI QCB upper, so that might be cheating.

I have a Winchester Aluminum hard case, airline approved with wheels. It is a two gun model, and holds my SP1 and M4gery just fine. Have to strip the scopes off both, remove vert grip and light on the 4, but it is a solid unit.
Yeah it screams "GUN", but it does not yell "assault rifle" so I do not get too many nasty looks. Not that I care, but who needs the added attention. |

Craftsman 30" carpenter's metal tool box. Closed cell foam inside. Lower in the bottom. Room for two uppers above it. Mags., 4X12 scope, & cleaning rod, on the tray. Heavy with the mags loaded but looks innocent enough. All black. All holes sealed. Dessicant in the box too. Lockable.

Wow. So many options. I think I might just try and get a hard case. My AR is a Colt MTCH-Bar with 20
" barrel, scope, and bipod. It weighs about 10 pounds. If it wasn't for the bipod and scope I would probably just use a soft case. Also. I drive a Regular Cab Tocoma and when someone else is in the truck with me there is no room for a gun. The gun rack won't hold the AR and I have stuff behind the seat. Because of that I carry the gun in the bed of the truck. Second reason for a hard case. |

It's not about having the uber-tactical rifle case. It's about protecting a major investment. Why would I spend several thousand dollars on a rifle and accessories, only to toss it into a cheap-ass $25 POS case? I also don't put my $800 pistol into a $5 Uncle Mike's nylon holster. My i-SHOT SERT case is extremely well built, and allows me the ability to modify it to fit my needs. I assure you my $165 case is a lot more versatile than a $25 plastic case with egg-shell foam padding. |

I have 3 tactical cases for them, but when I go to the range I've got an Aluminum Diamond plate 3 gun Safari Case from Dee Zee. It seperates the guns with closed cell foam with a layer on both, top and bottom. It also has wheels and a steel rod that travels the length of the case locking all 3 latches. billt.

I have a couple of Galati's best carbine cases(soft side) and a soft side from Bushmaster w/BM logo, and a couple of regular hard cases for travel
The Galati cases are very nice. Heavy duty zipper, high quality foam that is stiff enough to hold its shape well, and protect my guns from most hazards. The mag storage is good- 4 slots that hold 1 mag each and one that holds 2. There is also a zipper pouch on the forward outside area for paperwork, targets, and 'stuff" I highly recommend them (Galati Cases )  |

Jam it between the driver seat and console of the F-350. Makes it handy to get out if you see a coyote/ fox /badger/prairie dog.......living in Wyo , if it's brown it's down.
