Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - AR-15 Barrel Length Question

I have a barrel that is 16 inches with the flash suppressor on it.  It is a threaded barrel on a pre-ban gun.  I live in NY.  Is this barrel legal or should I sell it and get a new one?

If it is only 16 inches with the flash suppressor attached then the flash suppressor has to be permanently attached (ie if you can screw if off and have a 14.5" barrel it is illegal).
