Yesterday, I shot for groups using a bench for the first time with my RRA NM build. I got it back in August to shoot in Highpower competition, but always shoot at steel plates from 100-400 yards from prone--I hate shooting at paper. Here's the best group from the day:

6 rounds in exactly 1 inch at 100 yards using irons with Remington UMC 55 grain.

This was the first time I shot it since getting the trigger tuned be John Holliger of White Oak Armament. Very nice trigger for being 4.5 pounds.

Well, that's dang good.  UMC doesn't group for crap in my Colt A2.  It's good to find cheap ammo that shoots well!!!

I have a Compass Lake with the Kreiger barrel and I can get 5 rounds into 3/4" @ 100 yards with the cheap Winchester white box varmit rounds. They are the 45 grain @ 3600 FPS bullets. I didn't think they would shoot well out of the 1/7.75 barrel but they do. I don't think they would hold up at 600 yards LOL.

I wonder how far out you could shoot with those accurately, especially if it's not too windy.
