I just bought a used Colt ( my first Colt) Varminter used.  24" barrel 1:9, free float guard and a 4x C-more scope.  My question is simple.  How did Colt set these up originally?  What I am looking for is trigger iformation.  I have a Bushy Dissipator and frankly I did not like the trigger and repalced it.  While I wait for UPS shoul I be looking at a better trigger set up OR did Colt put a nice trigger in these when new?  Thanks!

IF this is the rifle your asking about: www.colt.com/law/car.asp, it comes with what Colt refers to as a "match" trigger.

One the first items we replaced on our CR6724s was the triggers, we put Jewell 2-stage triggers in ours.

Thanks!   I am not yet a reloader, but a buddy of mine is and can help me get started.  I will look inot this scope- this helps a great deal!

I noticed the trigger in mine before I bought it and thought it might be an aftermarket job.  Until I pull it.  Seemed the same as any stock service trigger group.  Creepy, stiff and too much overtravel.  Replaced it with a JP trigger and it's worlds better.  Kept the stock Colt "enhanced" hammer though.  (My gun was a sear block gun so I had less choices on triggers.)  As for performance, it's not bad but the well used, $700, Colt match/target 16" that I bought for my Girlfriend shoots significantly better groups.  I'd have been happy with my gun if I hadn't shot hers
