I saw this on the Maryland AR15 Shooter's Site..

Looks pretty neat, anyone ever done it? Got pics?

I'm thinking I might try one for my pistol, preferably metal so I can paint it

McNeilsen pretty much did the same thing with a metal toolbox. Very low profile

I really like the idea of being able to go low profile if need be, and it makes more sense to transport it that way too.

I really like the 'toolbox' and 'guitar case' ideas for transporting rifles.  The toolbox seems like the ultimate 'discrete' way to carry.  The guitar case is also good, but people still tend to notice someone carrying a guitar case around b/c they might think you're a musician.  With a toolbox, you can blend right in almost anywhere (espcially if you're wearing a hardhat).
