How do I put a patch onto the end of the slotted rod?
I feel pretty dumb asking this, lol

Slide the patch inside the SLOT.

There are 3 holes around the patch though, I don't do anything with those?

If your talking about these patches you need to go to the Otis site and read the directions if you have the Otis cable system. It you have an ordinary rod just thread the patch into the slot. Don't use the holes. Actually you can but again you'll have to RTFM.
