The metal receiver is a little discolored in certain areas because of all the manufacturing grease I guess, does anyone have any suggestions on how I should clean the outside of the receiver to make it look real nice?
Thanks |

I got a little carried away . |

Its a Bushmaster so you did good in my book, CLP will take your grease marks right off, just make sure to use a black rag. |

I know, just kidding with ya... Great rifle. I need a 20" A3. |

Just use breakfree clp and a black rag (on the butt stock too) for a uniform evil blackness.
--hey did it come with a free baseball cap?! |

Not to play pic Nazi, but including pictures that are out of focus only make the rest of the series look poorly done. Why not post the best of your pictures instead of including the shots that were destined for the recycle bin.
On a brighter note, its nice to see hearing protection included in a picture. Give us a range report, and let us know how she does! |
|
I'll edit out some of the blurry pictures and clean it up. |

Thanks for the CLP recommendations on cleaning her up. I'll be sure to post another pic series once I do .

Nice rig.
Need more ammo, and mags. Use a silicone cloth from Wal-Mart ($3-4.00) to finish off the fingerprints, and smooth out the finish. I hope your more steady aiming your rifle than you are with you camera..... 4X4SC |

From Bushy web site After I've cleaned my rifle, how do I keep my new Bushmaster's finish looking new? (published: 7/25/2003 1:11:27 PM) Article # 188 Title After I've cleaned my rifle, how do I keep my new Bushmaster's finish looking new? Abstract The surface finish of the Bushmaster rifle - all mil-spec hard anodize on the aluminum or manganese phosphate on the steel parts - is slightly textured or "matte finished" so that it won't reflect light - a military necessity. Here are a few tips on maintaining this matte finish. FIRST: USE ONLY BLACK RAGS on the outside of your rifle. Black t-shirts are great for this. A white or red rag or shop towel will rub into the matte textured surface and leave blotches. If this happens, use a Teflon based oil to remove blotches. There is a clear nickel acetate sealant applied over the anodizing and the steel parts in the rifle are also final finished in nickel acetate. Some solvents in gun cleaning solutions will attack nickel finishes, so read the label on your solvent to be sure you won't damage that surface finish. SECOND: Get a non-drying motor oil. Any non-drying motor oil will do, as long as it doesn't have additives that might attack the nickel acetate sealant that we apply as a final protective coating. Believe it or not, non-drying motor oil leaves a great looking finish. Link |

My local dealer where I bought it gave me the Bushmaster hat for free . Thanks for the CLP suggestion. |

Nice looking rifle! I got one of those for my dad for Christmas last year. Great rifle. When are you going to shoot it?
|
|
Welcome to the club.
I have a 20" A2 Bushmaster I bought during the ban. Great shooter and 100%reliable even with Wolf ammo. Never really noticed the new Bushmaster logo, but I think I like the old logo better. The mouth of the snake on the new logo reminds me of a certain part of the female anatomy. |

Your camera must have a full auto button, one picture per press of the button will do fine.

WOW cameras have a happy switch |

Beautiful Bushmaster, Accord
Looks like a USMC Tribute model. All you need is the KAC 5 and TA31 RCO A4 ACOG and you're there. Then again, your red-dot (Aimpoint?) will do nicely for the close in stuff!! Congratulations! |
|
You're trying to make me jealous?
I just ordered my first rifle, a RRA A4 20" bbl w/ removable carry handle. Essentially the exact thing you've got there. Except I don't get mine till January! Great pics, enjoy it. |
|
Congratulations |

She shoots like a dream, first time I took her to the range was also the first time i've ever shot a rifle before so it was awe inspiring to say the least. Probably a newbie question, but what are carrier key screws? |
|
|
Yep, and shows you haven't read the -10 manual Carrier keys |
|
|
Good info. |

|
Thanks, I just don't like the look of all those "tactical" M4gery's and whatnot, that's why I chose the 20" A3. |

Truth is, it's all you really need The rest of are clinically ill with terminal cases of BRD (Black Rifle Disease) |
