I was looking at mine, its an Armalite I just bought and it seems the slightest bit to twist to the left (the whole sight fixture) and when I twist it to straighten up it goes right back and also seems to be seated a little to the right of the receiver handle to begin with. Is this normal? Will it effect open sight shooting at all?

Normal. Won't effect anything once you zero the weapon.

Yes, my A2 receivers are all that way.

Yes, that's normal... Its caused by a spring loaded steel ball that acts like a roller to aid in the up-down adjustment and to help stabilize the aperture...
