I saw a recent picture in the picture thread of an 11.5 inch upper witha surefire forearm.
I wonder if anybody else has one and if they could post a few pictures. I am considering getting one. AND while I'm at it, everyone seem sto have the "A" mode. -- Does anyone have any experience with the "AB" or "B" models? I understand AB throws the light further, and "B" is brighter. EDITED TO ADD: I MEAN THE FOREARM WITH BUILT IN FLASHLIGHT I think it's clear from my last paragraph, above, but I suppose no one actually read the post  I didn't realize they made a plain ole railed forearm. |

I don't mount my Aimpoint on it anymore but it did work OK on there

Er thanks for your help (everyone who posted) but I meant to ask for the surefire forearm with integrated light. I didn't realize they made a plain ole railed forearm. Also, it's clear that no one read my original post, so let me re-ask does anyone have any experience with the "AB" or "B" models? Every pic i've ever seen on ar15.com seems to have the "A" model. I understand "AB" throws light further, and "B" is brighter ? |

Yes, since surefire didn't have any pictures of them mounted on a rifle. Plus any input on the A, AB, or B model differences. |

Here are some photos nabbed from the light pics thread -
M500A -   M500AB -  M500B -  The M500A and M500AB models are both 9v systems (three 123A cells) but the AB model is a turbohead which will result in a tighter, more focused beam that yields longer ranges. Both models are 125 lumen with the std. lamps and then you have the high output 225 lumen lamp for greater performance but your battery runtime will be reduced to 20 minutes. The M500A has a range of approx. 80-100+ yds. and the AB has a range of approx. 120-150+ yds.* The M500B is an '18v' system (six 123A cells) with turbohead and a std. 250 lumen lamp plus the 500 lumen high output lamp. The M500B has a range of approx. 150-200+ yds.* * Range estimates are based on the ability to cleary define the target and can also be hindered by fog, smoke, haze, etc. |
