I'm just curious how different people on this board actually use their AR's. Judging by the advice given to the many questions asked on this board it is obvious that there are those who use their AR's as a tool. Many times in do-or-die situations. These people think bump firing and cosmetic embelishments to an AR are useless.

Then there are those who say do what you want with it. Paint it any color you want, accessorize it with every little gadget you can. These people use their AR's for fun only.........they may keep it in the house for defense but it is primarily a fun item.

So what type are you?

1) Law Enforcement Officer
2) Gun Nut (Loves all guns and this just happens to extend to the AR platform)
3) Weekend Warrior (Loves the AR due mainly to its military use. Wishes they were a soldier or LEO but has never been one)
4) Former Soldier (Retired or discharged)
5) Current Soldier (They get the fun switch on their M16's)

And I would also like to say thank you to all of you who are LEO's and/or soldiers (past and present). I can never express my gratitude enough for what you do for us!!

I just use it for target shooting.  If need be, I'd probably use it for defense since I don't have a better alternative such as a handgun or a shotgun.

Where's the hunter option? Makes a great varmint gun.

Yeah, I didn't think about the hunting part. I don't use mine for hunting so it just slipped my mind. Sorry.

Also, sorry you can't pick more than one option.....once again, not thinking!!

How does the weekend warrior use a rifle differently that the gun nut or former military?  For that matter how does current military use it any different?  The rifles used for the job are issued.

Army Cadidiot here...though I might drop out to be an 18Xray; flipping back and forth everyday.

My ARs are just for practice until I get to play with the real deal.

Mine is for the inevitable hordes of zombies that will one day infest our cities and decimate our populations except for the few prepared with a rifle and 5,000 rounds of ammo.

5000 rounds? man your not really planning well.  5000 rounds is just enough to clear your immiedate neighborhood of zombies.  What are you going to do when the zombies from the wrong side of the tracks move in, use harsh language on them ?

Nope, this is my only screen name.

Also.......I apologize for not having multiple choices enabled........is there a way I can go back and change that now?

Also, I understand all the complaints such as "Where's the hunting option", "What about home defense", "Whats the difference between this and that", etc.
I apologize, this was just trying to get an idea of what the ARFCOM community is made up of. This was not a well thought out research project. It is not a perfect poll.

So yeah, it has flaws, but I think it's serving its purpose okay.

Then I just swap parts around.

I don't own one.  However my neighbor uses his for mass murders in the street, daily shootouts with other gansters at the local school playground.  He's robbing gas stations and terrorizing the local citizens.

And since the end of the AWB there's guns flooded in the streets.  I drove over serveral yesterday and that was while just backing out of my driveway!   The police are so overwhelmed with all this AR15  firepower that I hardly ever see a patrolman in our neighborhood.   They must be in fear of that deadly bayonet lug.

Its a regular Okay Corral here.  Daily gun fights.  I don't know why the local radio and national newspapers are not reporting all this violence!

I live in Florida .    We hae the Castle Law (private citizens can use deadly force to protect themselves).  Bodies everywhere.  The streets are running red with blood.   Tourists are all hunkered down in their hotel rooms for fear of the daily carnage.  Again, I haven't seen a single report from the media of all this violence.  They must be afraid to come out and report.

Well anyway, that's what my neighbor does with HIS AR15.   He's a very very bad man.

i use mine as a ranch rifle stays in the back seat of the work truck with a nice coat of dust. Never has it seen the inside of a case or a safe.  Its just a nice little rifle to stash away and works very well to shoot coyotes or crows. What ever i see that i want to shoot is also on the list. Most people on this board would cry if they saw what i did to mine.

Yeah, tell me about it!! Now that those evil people with their evil rifles can have bayonets due to the sunsetting of the AWB, the crime rate has soared. Drive by stabbings with bayonets are rampant in these parts.

Also, those 30 round magazines marked "restricted" cause way more damage than those that aren't. Oh the humanity!!
