Is there a way I can tell if my DPMS Upper receiver is cast or forged?

All uppers are forged, except for a few old Hesse and the carbon's.

Good to know!!

I have, what I thought was some funky looking "Casting" flaws that could result in a weakened area on the left side of my "Factory new" DPMS Varmint Upper if it was cast!!!
