Classic...one of the few times I have both, and not a single person says the old AFCOM standby of "get both". I can only laugh at the irony of that.
Is loving them both so terrible? (Though my BLOCK does need a grip reduction to have a comfiness that even approximates that of the 1911.) |

It's aluminum. can't weigh more than an ounce or two? they could stick it in an envelope and mail it for $.37

I have the regular one... Would cost a little more than .37 but you are right... I HATE handling "Fees" or the new pay 2 bucks for "Expedited shipping" that some of these companies have. |

That's even cooler than their old opener. Too bad my 1911 isn't fitted tightly enough to NEED a bushing wrench....

Yeah, you probably have me smoked on mechanical accuracy, but mine just plain looks cool.
Now a buddy has me smoked on both accurate and cool, he's got his dad's pre-war National Match. That will stack bullet holes on top of bullet holes. |

Ever owned or ran a business?? You do actually have to pay someone to stuff them in a box/envelope and label it. And trust me, at LT they have enough business that they need someone just to ship stuff. And, I could just hear the bitching when your dillo is lost in the mail because they just stuck it in a plain envelope and mailed it for $.37. Do you honestly think that little chunk of aluminum would survive a trip thru the USPS in a plain envelope?? Besides, when it says $4 for S&H, that is USPS priority mail, which does cost about $4. |

Either way, $4 is a heck of a lot different than $15.
I was being somewhat facetious with the $.37 comment. There is a difference between priority mail and first class mail. That's all I was getting at. I still think they're neat. |

 Sorry I am not up on the proper Vernacular for an armadillo shaped bottle/1911 tool opener... I have the origional one that came with a mount but LaRue (those bastards!) neglegted to tell my that I must refer to it as a "Dillo".....I have been corrected... Thank you for keeping me up to date....

And have you ever run a business? Most business' have a line item on their G/L called shipping and handling income. Many buiness' make money on their shipping charges. They mark it up just like any other products. Yes there are those vendors out there that charge you the exact cost of shipping. But whenever someone is charging a flat rate they are usually making a profit on the shipping. Plus, the cost of any labor should alreayd be built into the cost of the product. The "handling" portion of S&H is usually the mark-up part. Dont get me wrong I think $4 S&H is a fair price and probably right about where it actually does cost for LaRue to ship. But dont kid yourself into thinking businness' don't make money on S&H costs. |

You have to understand that when any new product or vendor comes on the market they will automatically be compared to the best comparative equipment out at the moment. When LaRue was new on the stage they were being compared to ARMS and as always being the new kid ont eh block they were doubted at first. Most if not everyones opinions have changed since then. Althoug you will still find those who prefer ARMS gear, you will be hard pressed to find anyone bashing LaRue products, unless its shaped like an Armadillo as evidenced in this thread.
