sight in at 50yds and it will be right on at 200.Raise rear sight up 2 clicks then zero.Thats the easy way for the santose battle zero with out having to fiddle with  the allen screw in the windage drum.The reason for 50yds...80% of engagements take place at and well under that range.

Pun is correct, but make sure you're using the small aperature for the 6/3 or 8/3 negative 2 zero

i can get to a 100 yrd range but is a good 1 hr away

No sense in shooting an AR at a pistol range. Make the drive. I have to drive a good hour to get to the range as well but it's worth it

Since you have a fixed carrying handle marked 8/3 then to use a proper 25m zero do the following.

Ensure proper rear sight setting to zero (8/3+1)
Ensure the rear sight aperture is set on 300+1 not 800+1.
Ensure small aperture is being used
Enforce basic marksmenship fundelmentals (position, sight picture, breathing and trigger)
Two consecutive 3 round groups are shot with 5 of 6 rounds in a 4cm circle
as per FM 3-22.9  This will give you a 300m zero (should stay within 18" with service ammo at this range)

I have not had a chance to get my Colt LE6920 out to a 100meter range to verify if this is right on or not but I suspect it should not be too far off.

 No problem,  There's several ways to zero depending on your desired long range and actual range on hand.  

Just remember for my previous post that the point of impact matches point of aim as the bullet exits the bore arises to the traget at 25m, climbs to max height and then gravity startes pulling it back down and crosses your line of sight again at 300m.

i have some "IMI 223" boxed"civi" ammo that i want to zero with

would that hold the same or drop off faster??

i am basically concerned with 100/200 at most eyes arnt that good any more lol

now can i just put up a 4 cm circle to do this?

Actually, the reason is that due to the height of the sights over the bore, and the ballistic curve, if adjusted for 0 at 25 yards, the bullet is about 4" high at 100 yds, and about 6" high at 200 yds.  It is back at zero at 300 yds.

BUT if you zero it at 50 yds, you are only 1.7" high at 100 yds, zero at 200 yds, and -3" at 250 yds.   Even at 300 yds, you are only about 6" low.  So, the result is you are +2" to -3" out to 250 yds.  Not bad!

The "Santose Zero" is superior at the most likely ranges of engagement, and still works farther out.

The results are slightly different for a carbine length sight radius, but if you will zero at 50 yds, it is still quite good.

4 cm is a little much, you want better than than.  You want a near cloverleaf at 50 yds.
