My Colt's left side of the mag well is marked as follows:

AR-15A3
Tactical
Carbine
Cal. .223
SER. LBDXXXXXX

The Right side:

RESTRICTED
MILITARY/GOVERNMENT
LAW ENFORCEMENT/EXPORT
USE ONLY

The Company is colt mfg co inc, all the others ive seen have been colt defense something or other.

Does this mean my barrel has a .223 chamber rather than a 5.56? Why is it designated 'tactical carbine' with a LEO/GOVT only stamp on the other side rather than "COLT'S LAW ENFORCMENT CARBINE"?

I would appreciate ANY info about this carbine, As I have an obsession with it... Thank you fellow enthusiats!
