I'd love to have a QD mount on a mid-length but I refuse to give up the ability to attach a bayonet (they're just too evil looking to pass up). Would the extra length make it too long for a bayo? If the length of the bi-lock were compensated for by shortening the barrel would it then work? Anyone done this?

I have bilocks mounted permanently on 14.5" barrels and the bayonet will not reach the lug. I don't know if this is because of some extra length (washers) added to reach 16" or what. You could make it work by cutting back the barrel shoulder, I would assume.
