I have read almost everything on this site.  I love it and now have several Ar's to my credit (built by myself)  Anyway, I have seen post of people asking how to install (perm) muzzle brakes on 14.5 " barrels.  Some of these folks dont seem to have NFA.

My question is..Do you need some NFA paperwork to buy a 14.5 barrel without muzzle device already attached?  Can you buy 14.5 barrel and Flash sup muzzle brake seperatly?

Thanks in advance

Joe

You can buy a 14.5" barrel by itself.  Just don't assemble it until you have something permanently attached to it to make the overall length over 16".  You can also buy a 14.5" barrel with a proper muzzle device permanently installed.  It would be considered a 16" barrel at that point, with very little or no restrictions, depending on the state you live in.
