I promise I really searched for the answer to this before posting.  No Joy.

I have a Rock River Entry Tactical M4gery.  Came with an A2 flash hider.  Threaded, not pinned.
Would like to try out a Phantom Flash Suppressor YHM-28-5C2.

But, I keep reading about how a 14.5" barreled rifle + flash hider = legal  IF  it's pinned and welded.

Is this old info from the AWB days and / or specific to just gun hating states?

Thanks for any help in advance.

your barrel MUST be a permanent 16 inches or more, or it MUST be Federally registered as a SBR - short barrel rifle.

So if you have a 16" + fh, unscrew it, screw on a new.

If you have a 14.5" + fh, then the new one has to be permanently attached

I kinda doubt his Rock River Arms Entry Tactical M4gery is a MG.

Your just gonna confuse the new fella.

LOL!!!

I doubt he even has a 14.5 inch barrel from RRA, let alone a MG.  Unscrew, put on new...

No privately owned RRA MG's.

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

Just for clarification, I didn't say I had a 14.5" barrel rifle.
I said I have READ about 14.5" barrels + flash hider = legal.

I knew the RRA site info said it was a 16" barreled rifle with an A2 flash hider, but to tell you the truth, I did not realize the total length was ~17 7/8".  Never got out the tape measure to check.

I was under the incorrect assumption that without the flash hider the total length was 14.5".

Again, thanks for schooling me.  I learned something.
