I've seen some pretty cool looking grips on ARs. I've tried the Hogue and it feels pretty comfortable but there's a few others (especially the First Samco) that look like they may be even better...

First Samco
Ergo
HK91 style
Hogue

Which do you guys prefer?

Well, the Houge is really comfortable, but a little small for me.

The A2 is OK, but the whore bump needs to be moved up about an 1/8" to be in the correct spot.

The AMBI ERGO is OK but the backstrap is a little thin at the rear.

Just as long as they all have a gapper, I'm happy.

I've only tried the A1 and A2 grips but I think I'd like A1 the best since there isn't any crap like finger grooves or anything on it.

without a doubt the two most comfortable for me are the first samco and the hogue.  recently i held an ar with the new Magpul grip and didn't really like it.

+1 for Samco... I have them on all my ARs.

I used to be a huge G27 supperter untill I got a tango down grip. Now all my AR's except my A1 clone have one and I sold my G27.

A1 , all the way.   ;)

I have long fingers, so for any PG to be comfortable, I like an extended web area. That said, I have an Ergo grip, which is the only aftermarket grip I've tried. It works and it's comfortable (to me), so I have had no reason to try out any others.

Guess I'm in teh minority....MagPul MIAD grips on two of my ARs.  Really like the feel.  Otherwise, standard A2s are fine with me...

A1.

+1 backstrap is thick enough...indexes my trigger finger perfectly.  Not a bad price either.

I like the SPR. Strictly not for southpaws, though.

The Tangodown is sort of the polar opposite, in terms of feel, but I still prefer it to the A2.

The Ergo is too thin for my liking.

A1 or A2 with the finger swell removed, combined with a Magpul trigger guard.

I have a LMT lower w/TG pistol grip on the way this week, and I suspect it will be comfortable, too.

G27,
I've tried others and end-up using the Samco. Perfect grip for me.

I have to say that my favorite grip for a long time was the rubberized Ambi grip made by Ergo. That is until I tried the Tango Down battle grip. I have since sold the Ergo grips and went with  TD battle grips.

I have a Hogue on my current AR of which I like very much, but I am getting this next AR with the First Samco G27.

I wish the AK had such a thing

ETA: What type of texture/feel does the Tango have? Hows about the Samco?  I really like the tacky feel of the Hogue- but admit it is a just a bit small in diameter

Hrm, may well make a good poll, but only 5 choices available. I'll add a poll to my post... didn't see I could do it earlier h.gif

I had to leave a Other choice as I'm guessing an A1 and A2 standard grips are different? I did not know that.

I'd like to get a hold of a MIAD before I spend that much money and find I don't like it better than the SPR.

NO LOVE FOR THE MIAD?

It's the only one I've tried big enough for my hands.

No money.

I'd like to try the MIAD, but I don't have the cash laying around right now.

Maybe next time.....cause we all know there will be a next one

I got two of these grips at a show not to long ago. The only markings are an AF stamp on the left side. These are the best grips I have ever had for my self but im not sure who makes them. I would like to buy more so if anyone knows of them and there maker could ya let me know, Thanks.
