Super Light all the way.
Don't underestimate the weight savings. Lighter IS better - period.
16" is fine for any imaginable use (civilian).
People buy HBARs, then load them up with all sorts of crap. Then they hold a superlight and say "WTF"...and begin to rethink their setups.....
Skip all the regrets, wrong purchases, trial and error, and time wasted and go straight to superlight.
BTW, the term "superlight" is only used cause HBARs dominate the market. HBARs are a commercial invention created by companies that want to save money by not having to machine barrel blanks all the way down to the correct profile. Superlight is the original AR profile and worked just fine for the military. Unless you need to bayonet someone (get govt profile), or shoot 300+ rounds non stop full auto (as is with the M4A1 profile) then "pencil" barrel will be perfect.
