Okay, I saw something on this here a week or so ago, but cannot find it now.  I need to find out.  If I have a 14.5" barrel, and use a longer flash suppressor, AND pin it, or otherwise PERMANENTLY attach it, so that it is longer than 16", I am legal, correct?

I know the ballistic equation involved and am not worried about that.  I know a cop might hassle me and ask questions about it, and am not worried about that.  Simple question, if anyone has an answer....Is it legal?

Thanks

You are correct. If the 1.5"+ flash suppressor / muzzlebrake is PERMANENTLY attached to your 14.5 barrel then it is legal (as it makes your barrel 16".

Just like the old 10.5" CAR uppers with the permanently attached 5.5" flash suppressor.

Yup - if a muzzle device is permanently attached, it counts towards barrel length, and as long as the total length it 16"+, you are fine.
