What do you get with a $250-300 forearm like Larue that you dont get on a $120 forearm like YHM? Is is worth paying more?

The YHM is not a free float, it is a hand guard system that replaces the non-railed items.

The LaRue or DD free floats the barrel for (theoretically) better accuracy.  On a combat/self-defense rifle it is debatable if this increase is necessary.  The US Army, if I remember correctly, only requires groups of 4cm at 25 yards.  About 4-5 MOA.  This is not an exact recollection.

Actually YHM DOES have a free float version of their rail system. As for the second question, I don't know. I have a Samson rail and SIR system. I have heard people say that the YHM may come loose based on its design but you can install it with blue loc tite to fix that possible problem. I actually have been thinking about getting one for my next build.
