Nothing special, just a standard 16" factory built LMT AR-15.
I got it from Pete at Legal Transfers under the Active Duty special purchase.

I got it home, took it apart, cleaned it, put it back together, and just had to post a pic.
Can't wait to get it to the range!

When I picked it up I almost drove straight to Denny's Guns to get a rail, grip and Magpul trigger guard...the Black Rifle Disease has struck!
Now I just need to put a few thousand rounds through it, and decide on an Aimpoint or Eothingy

Let the learning curve begin...

Congrats.  It won't be long til the second AR makes it way to your home!  They have a way of calling to each other and then....here come the siblings!!!  I'm a lightweight around here, but currently have 4 .223s and 1 .308 ARs.....

Cheers!

I'm not sure Pete wants the price posted up here, but it was $995 shipped for the complete, factory assembled rifle including the BUIS.

I probably could have built one for less, but seeing as I know nothing about AR's, I figured I should start with a complete rifle, and work my way up to complete builds from there...

Thanks for the compliments folks!

Nice rifle, especially for a first.

Psst, as for optics, try to get the chance to shoot with them both and see which one you like better.

I have the same except I bought mine separate upper and lower half.

I can't leave it stock because of BRD.

Here's what I changed:

KAC RAS rails, KAC VFG
Tango Down panels
Magpul ladder rail protectors
LMT M16 BCG with Crane o-rings
Aimpoint M2 & KAC mount
Vltor CAR Modstock & Vltor rubber pad
Specter MOUT sling and stock magazine pouch

Future changes I'm planning on are SF tac light, Larue BUIS, Larue Aimpoint mount and LMT Sopmod stock.

You'll enjoy it.

Pic link of my rig with the OEM LMT stock before I installed my Vltor stock.

It's the third pic of the page

Wow that's your FIRST rifle? That's pretty sweet. When I turned 18 I bought a 7.7mm arisaka and only 20 rounds for it, it was all I could afford.

Yeah, and I'm 25.
My Dad is a liberal, so I, unfortunately,  never got a .22 when I was a kid

Hell, the biggest caliber rifle I've ever shot was the .308 M14 I had to qualify with while I was in the Navy. And I've only shot a .223 (HK93) once, and that was only a couple weeks ago!

Nice and congrats on the first AR/rifle.  I'm sure it won't be your last.  The AR fever has struck.
