Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Kitty Kat free float handguard for 7.5" barrel, replacement with a longer one.?

I have a kitty katy upper with the short free float handguard made for the 7.5" barrel.  I would like to shave down the front sight post and put a longer free float on that covers the whole barrel.  Is the Kitty Kat DPMS ff hg made by YHM? is it a standard size so I could just unthread it and put on a longer FFHG?

you dont need to shave it down, buy a low profile YankeeHillMachine low profile gas block.

The FF is not DPMS I cannot think of where it comes from but maybe I will check it for you...........

Just buy the DPMS  "CAR"  2  piece float tube identical to yours and spin the tube off the barrel nut.
