It "may" be OK? ATF stands for After The Fact. Odds are no one will ever come up to you at the range, take a out a hack saw to find out how the muzzle device was attached.  After removing over 2000 muzzle devices in the past year, I've seen all kinds of pin installs. Some were over board, some were just to the letter of the law. It got to the point where with factory installed brakes, we would lock the barrel in a vice and see if the brake would unscrew with a little muscle.  You would be surprised how many factory pin jobs came right off with a wrench, causing just a little damage to the threads.
