Ok, I have an ar15 up at work in the back that I think I am going to buy...

Its a Colt SP1 lower with a colt b/bc/ch.
It has a Model 1 sales M4 stock on it
The upper appears to be a model 1 sales 11.5/5.5 A3 w/carryhandle.
M4 standard furniture.

I am not positive on the upper's identity, however...

Anyway, would you pay $500 for a rifle like this? Its clean and appears to be a shooter. Its just what I need for my SBR project to get rolling...

I'd pay almost that much for the SP1 lower by itself.

That is the general concesus around the shop. Im just kind of Colt retarded. How old would an SP1 marked lower be?

$500 isn't a bad price for any working AR15.

Yeah not what I would be looking for in an AR but for $500 I would have to take it plus if you are wanting an SBR you can just send away for the tax stamp and once that sucker comes back that FH can go in the trash

I was thinking the lower would sell for that, too.

Buy it.

60's to 80's.  I'm not sure of the exact date that production of them started and stoppped, nor if the 80's date includes the SP2.

Been looking for an SP1 lower, personally.  What you have there is a hell of a deal. Snap it up.

You really shouldn't buy it.  It will explode.  The SP stands for Shitty&Pisspoor.   Where was this thing?  I would never want to shop at a place like that.

If I had the money for something like that, I'd buy it just because it has an SP1 lower, sell the upper and stock, keep the B/BC/CH, and build a 20" SP1...

I hope you realize an SP-1 upper will not fit anyother brand of lower without adapters sets, which suck.

If you are SBRing a DPMS buy something that fits it.

The rifle doesnt have a colt upper. Its a colt lower, LPK, and B/BC/CH.

The rest appears to be a Model 1 upper. However, its kinda hard to pinpoint who made an upper with no markings...

Probably made about 1983.
