I just got finished with my first AR. I used the 16" CAR kit from model 1( I know, flame on) I didn't know the dislikes about them until I already bought it.  The lower is a stag which looks to be pretty good. The gun shoots good (all 40 rounds that I put through it) and functions fine. But I was wondering about lubrication, where to put it and what kind to use?  Also the buffer spring makes a rubbing noise in the stock when manually moving the bolt, is there a cure for this(lube, grease, etc.) or is it normal?

I realize that you are new here so I'll be nice and calm when I say this,

POST PICTURES DAMNIT!
Seriously, welcome aboard and your new carbine sounds great. That noise you hear is normal and there is no cure.  Get used to it

PICS.........wait, that's already been said.

You should use BreakFree CLP (can be found at Wally*world or any self-respecting gunshop) and put a few drops in the carrier (I've found that a few drops in the gas holes on the right side of the carrier really help loosen the rifle up when it is gummed up)

That rubbing you hear is normal. It will become less pronounced the more you shoot it (or you might get used to it, I'm not sure)

Now put some more rounds through that baby

Model 1

Stag

You could use any good gun grease between your hammer and trigger, also on your buffer springs to help quiet it a little. Buffer spring noise is normal.

And... THIS THREAD IS WORTHLESS WITHOUT PICS!

Welcome to the Black Rifle Disease (BRD).

ETA: Use Break Free CLP everywhere else.

I could see your pics, this is the second one. The first one was OK too.
