I am looking into picking up a Bushamaster Carbon 15 Model 4 and I am wondering if anyone has some thoughts on this weapon good or bad. I cant find any reviews or articles on it so any experience or knowledge would be helpful.

Thanks!

Trust me this topic has been discussed at great length.
Gotta go search archive - regular search just gives you 30 days. Here are some of the longer and nastier discussions:

FWIW, my opinion, stick with traditional Forged Aluminum for durability and reliability.

Thanks for the info DR. Some of the links you posted I cannot access. I do not have bronze or higher clearance :)

I  just recently bought the Bushmaster Carbon 15 Flat Top and it shoots like a dream.  I prefer the flat top as I've heard that it's better than compared to the raised rail of the Model 4.

You'll hear people say that they love their carbons while others say that you should stick to the forged aluminum.  It all depends on what you want and what you want to do with your rifle.

As for me?  I know that this isn't going to be my first and my next will most likely be a KISS AR made from forged aluminum and all that.  But for now, having a light weight rifle is the thing for me.

Well I bought one and am going to get a chance to test it this weekend.

I saw the posts of complaints about the rounds not feeding properly but it looks as though mine has feed ramps to take care of the problem.

I will custom build my next one as this site is a wealth of info.

Thanks for your input!
