Thanks for looking,

Well, I told myself that I would put off building my only remaining RRA lower until this fall, Gunshow on Oct. 29th and 30th to be exact, because there is alwaya a special RRA dealer there.

Well, I got impatient, got some REALLY nice paychecks from my summer job, and got the go-ahead from my parents to buy some stuff (they keep telling me that I need to save money from college).

One night I went crazy and decided to get what I wanted for my Mid-length upper project that I have been thinking about since thefirst of the year. I ordered the upper, bolt/carrier, charging handle, and vise block from Bravo Co., and got the Sabre Defence Middy barrel from Talon Arms. The RRA handguards came from ADCO (extremely quickly, I might add) and I got some Gapper plugs from Denny's.
You don't think I'd forget pics would 'ya

I got to put about 80rds through it today. I got the EOTech sighted back in for this rifle because, as some of you may remember, it has been residing on my RRA 20" A4 since April.

All I need now is a BUIS. I'm thinking I'm gonna go with an ARMS #40. I've used one on one of Robert's (from RB Precision) carbines, and really took a liking to it.

Well, what do ya think?

Lookin Good !

Hehe, I had the barrel in my hands for 15 minutes before I was out the door on the way to our farm to throw this baby together.

I am more than pleased with every piece of it. It has instantly turned into my favorite. For some reason, it feels lighter, even with the EOTech on top, than my M4-profiled A2 carbine.

This Mid-length just filled a gap that was missing and I have a feeling my others are going to be collecting a little bit of dust in the coming months

Thanks for the compliments.

Well, I went crazy with my debit card and spent about $620 in 45 minutes. That's crazy for me.

I like it, the green really sets it off. You'll have to keep us updated on how the barrel works out.

Cool!

Don't beleive the hype. You CAN go to college and still have your AR habit. This is my 9th and final semester (150 hour degree, takes a long ass time) and i'm building my third, and I have 3 factory ARs. And more handguns then i can count.

Well, a little birdie gave me some photo pointers yesterday, so I decided to give these photos another try. These were taken about half an hour ago.

And the gratuitous mounted bayonet shot

It looks great, both the middy and your photos.

Your last pic with the bayonet shows one of the advantages of the 16" mid, that a regular bayonet could be used.

I'm just waiting for my IDF bayonet for my A2 and Galil AR.

I still haven't made up my mind in what barrel to get for my middy project, either the Sabre, Bravo or ABS.

Very nice pictures and a vey nice weapon.  I think your other weapons will be collecting dust as well.

I hope to have one mid-length in my small collection someday. I already have the bayonet for it. :)

WIZZO, by chance can you make a pic for me of exactly what your shooting eye sees looking through the eotech?  Wondering how high above the front site the recticle is, been contemplating getting that or an AIMPOINT.

Princeton show, next one is around end of October. I usually go to the Princeton shows.

Give me a minute for the reticle pic.

repub18, I ordered an ARMS #40 last night from ADCO. It might be here by the weekend.

WIZZO

EDIT: here's the pic. This is pretty much what you see. Generally, I center the dot on top of the front site post, but I don't have to because the EOTech is parallax free (as is the Aimpoint, IIRC)

and yes, Princeton, IL (Oct. 29th and 30th and there's one in November too) is the show to go to for RRA parts.

RRA middy's suck and so do Eotechs!

Seriously, nice build. If I could only have one AR, it would be a middy very similar to yours.

Awesome looking rifle.  The M4-type buttstock and mid-length upper look great together... it seems to be proportioned just right.  Now just add an OD green Hogue pistol grip!

I have a Houge on one rifle and an ERGO on another.

I'm thinking I'll keep the A2 on this one.

Besides, I fixed the worst thing about it. I added a Gapper to it so it doesn't bother my finger anymore.

When you don't use the lame excuse that you have to pack all your crap and head back down to school to get out of a day of shooting.

It's definitely coming with me next Blasfest.

Thanks everyone.

Rob, I just so happened to see that in your industry section the day I got my barrel, so I had to get a good pic to throw in there.

There's a chance I MIGHT get an action shot tomorrow (I read that those are extra points) and I'l hopefully get to try it out to 200yds.

I just need to get some more ammo to really give it a thourough break in
