This upper shipped today to a US Goverment agency for use in the middle east. 10.5" LMT upper with LMT M16 bolt carrier group, Crane O ring, LMT Charging handle and LaRue 7.0 and Noveske Flash hider/Blast reducer.

Flash hider looks to be same concept as 4 piece Krinkov unit. Is this correct?

Very nice, but how effective is that flash hider compared to a Smith Enterprises Vortex?
I personally don't care what's on my gun, but the troops deserve the best. I hope this didn't come out wrong. |

This muzzle device is designed to re-direct muzzle blast away from the shooter and his team members. If any of you have shot a shorty with a standard A2 flash hider you know what I mean, it is brutal to the shooter and those around youl This device totally eliminates that effect. You can stand right next to the muzzle and not feel the usual battering concussion. As a flash hider it is not as effective as a Phantom or Vortex, but much better than an A2. If you own a shorty and no suppressor you really need one of these, it will make you shooting experience about 500% more enjoyable I am waiting for more to arrive but Grant at G&R should have some in stock right now. Nice build Denny. I got some disposable income coming soon and I may have to spend it with GTS.
I live in NY where SBRs are verboten, otherwise I'd own one of these uppers. I haven't caught the bug for the midlength yet. The MRP is way to much for my wallet right now. However, the Dissipators have intrigued me for awhile and was wondering of this plus the Noveske flash hider would be an effective combo. Yes, no, maybe? |

I didn't notice much in the way of recoil reduction, but was amazed at the lack of muzzle blast and noise. I would say the weight will help tame the muzzle some. As soon as I get more in from John N. I will be putting one on a 14.5 Colt M16 to see what happens. I am doing a custom upper for a customer right now where we are shortening an LMT 14.5 and pinning and welding a Noveske to make legal length. I suppose this one may need some fairly extensive test fire to make sure it functions I will post pics of this bad boy when it is done next week. Denny |
