I'm planning on picking up a maxpedition soft case for my carbines but still need a case for my bolt gun.  I'm looking for a soft case because these will be used just for transport between the house and the range.

I don't want a hard case due to the bulk and added weight.

Any suggestions?  And is the maxpedition a good case for my AR's?

I've always had good luck with the Galati cases (IIRC it's www.Galati.com).  Though they have gone up in price over the last few years.  Their lower tier cases though are more reasonably priced and should do well enough for range transport duty.

Can you compare the Galati to the Eagle?  Quality,  is the Galati made in the USA?

Eagle is the best.  Made in the USA.

Galatis are made in Korea, good quality .

Galati Tactical Rifle Case...

Its heavily padded with closed cell foam and has an extra rib of padding by the nose area of the case. It also has a long padded shoulder strap.

And it will float with your rifle in it (for those boating accidents)

I have an Eagle carbine case and a Galati range bag.  The Eagle case is just as everybody says and the Galati bag is made pretty well.  From my experience with the Galati bag I would try one of their carbine cases.

I've been really happy with my Ace Case cases.  Their deluxe assault rifle case is super sweet.  http://www.acecase.com

Definetly Uncle Mike' Tactical rifle Cases. Got 4 of them. The quality is more than adequate for home to range/class transportation, and for about $20,
You can't go wrong. Check it out:

I like my ACE case just fine. US made too.

Eagle cases are better, but they cost more too.

I understand Ishot is now making rifle cases. If they`re anything like their pistol bags, I would check them out also.

I know that there are mixed feelings amongst board members about Blackhawk products...but I absolutely love my 35" Discreet case.
