I have read a lot of discussion about the pros and cons of the gas piston system and it's varied manufacturers, but does anyone have data on ballistic properties of these systems?

Specifically I would like to see information in regards to ballistic performance of different bullet weights out of different barrel lengths and different manufacturers and varying ranges, including pattern consistency.

I believe a lot of people looking to buy these systems would be very interested in this kind of information.

Any information, even if it only personal experience, would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Mike

Can't speak for POF or HK but the gas system on the LW does not improve or degrade accuracy one way or the other.  It is directly tied to the quality of the barrel.  Have a 1 moa rifle, get it converted, no changes.  Pretty boring I know, but thems the facts mack.

Think the piston reciprocation screws with barrel harmonics?  The piston moves a little over half and inch, and does so after the round has left the barrel.  How does he know?  High speed video.

It is still an AR.  Anyone who says otherwise is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.

SO, No changes either way.
