It looks like an "A" however it's not, anyone know who made this upper?

It could be anything. Back in the day, the splintered "A" could have meant it was an Olympic receiver, also. All that mark really tells you, in most cases, is who made that raw forging. It doesn't 100% pinpoint which company was responsible for finishing the raw forging, but it can help in some cases, but very few. |

In most cases, trying to determine the actual MANUFACTURER of an upper based on the forge markings is like trying to determine the brand and model of a car based on its tire markings.
