I wondering which is the better rifle and what a good deal would be also aside from the the greatest shot in the world what can a mear mortal expect to get for distance with the right scope ammo and practice

Are you talking about the Bushmasters?
Unless it's going to be a range/prairie dog gun, then don't go there.  A lot of people have bought them for coyote guns and end up selling them due to weight and length.
