They say there new, but I'd like to see one. I think I've caught the A1 bug also, I'm trying hard to resist not buying one! lol

My, my, aren't we suspicious.

My own A1 upper didn't come from there, so I can't accede to your request. I can tell you this, though. CDNN is one of the most reputable outfits to deal with that there is. If they say the uppers are new takeoffs, then they are exactly that.

I did buy a bolt/carrier assy and a buttstock assy from them, that came out of the same batch of takeoff parts.  The first stock assy was a very early type, w/o the trap door at the rear, and I wanted the A1 model. I called them, they had me send back the first piece, sent me a proper type w/the butt trapdoor, AND refunded the postage I spent to send the first one back.

Both pieces were exactly as advertised. You could tell, from the slight rub marks on the carrier rails, that it had been mounted in an upper; but you could also tell that it had never been fired. The stock assembly still was coated w/cosmoline. In other words, brand new takeoffs

shamayim is exactly right IMHO.  I have an Sp1 carbine and once thought about buying the sp1 rifle upper from CDNN.  I have ordered other stuff from them and got exactly what I ordered.  CDNN is an execellent place to do business.

Don't have a digital camera.  Bought two from CDNN.  Exactly as described, small front push pin hole, FA, unfired, M16A1 takeoffs.  Same goes for the A2s.

Here you go.

And this is how it looks on a regular black lower.  Hope this helps.

Dammit.  Now I have to go and buy one of these uppers.

I bought one from there about 6 months ago and it was just as advertised.  Everything was perfect on it and it looks great.  The upper and butstock were completely covered in cosmoline so you have to give them a nice, warm, soapy bath.  Order from CDNN with complete confidence.

All the pictures you could ever want. OK, maybe not all you'd ever want, but quite a few anyway and some pretty good discussion on the uppers from CDNN. Buy one, you won't regret it

How fast is Cdnn is processing orders? Not that it's a big deal. But I was hoping I'd get it this week.

I'm closer than you are, but it only took a couple of days for mine to arrive. CDNN is pretty quick on getting things out the door. I wouldn't be surprised if you see it by the end of the week.

I've bought both the A2 upper and the A1 upper assemblies. Both of them as advertised! Couldn't be happier, and I will gladly do business with them in the future!

For those of us that  still live under a state AWB, can these be considered pre-ban/pre-94?

Upper receiver configuration doesn't mean a thing. It's all about the lower.  If you're in a ban state, your lower must be manufactured prior to the effective date of the ban. For some states 94, another 2000.

CDNN per the latest catalog that just arrived is now selling SP1 complete rifles in excellent condition. $999

What is that little block for on the left side (opposite ejector port) for? I have noticed it on my bushy and I can't figure its use at all. The sp1's don't have an shell deflector but they do have a forward assist. I thought the first ones didn't have forward assist?

You would need a pre-ban lower to legally use one of these uppers in NY, unless you cut the bayonet lugs off and swapped out the flash hider for a permanently attached muzzlebrake (or something other than a flash hider, like a "the look" fake flashhider)

Oops.  Like a dumbass, I didn't read carefully and I thought they were complete rifles.

Could someone scan the page of the CDNN catalog that displays the ad for the SP1 rifles?  I would download their catalog, but it is huge, and I am on dialup.  The connection will time out, and not download.

Justin there were some complete sp-1 type rifles listed in a recent cdnn catalog for about 1000 I think. I do not know if they were pre ban or not as I did not pay close attention. You can download the catalog from their website and view it with adobe acrobat.

Will do.  Thanks.

I bought one but I don't have the picture.. just a word of warning, they're not the SP1 they're the A1 so make sure you've got the right lower for it.  Personally I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

EDIT: after seeing the above picture I may talking about something different

The one in my picture above was advertised as a SP1 upper when I purchased it but the ad has been changed to SP1/M16A1 recently.

I got mine this winter.. it was just that upper as well as A2 uppers (both new and used) for sale on one page... It was marked as an SP1 but was in reality an A1.. I almost didn't buy it because of that till somebody here set me straight abou the whole thing

If they are, in fact, SP1s; they're at least 25 years old.  Colt hasn't made the SP1 model since about 1980 or 81, when they went to the SP2, which was essentially the same piece.  That lasted for a couple of years, and then they started with the profusion of "Sporter", "Match Target," and other BS politically correct labels that I refuse to try and learn

Don't know for sure what the SDCCI stands for , but my hunch is that it's a Correctional facility in South Dakota. That's just a guess though.

As far as the Age of the M16A1 uppers from CDNN. My barrel was stamped "80".

That hump on the side oppostie of the ejection cover is for the carrier Key to fit. All Ar type rufles have this so called hump.

I believe he was asking about the age of the complete rifles (SP1s) that they apparently got from some state correctional or LE facility.

Thanks shamayim.  I will try and email them and ask them these questions.  I bet your guess on what SDCCI stands for is pretty close.
