Why would you have your flashlight low like that with a tape switch?  Why do you have a BUIS with no front sight?  SPR are 18" barrels....that looks 20" to me.

It is a dual switch - it has both a clicker and a tape switch.  That's why it is low.

As for the BUIS - maybe it isn't in yet, maybe he's waiting - probably not intentional or permanent.

SPRs also aren't chambered in 6.8, have Vortex style flash hiders, use Vltor stocks, LaRue parts are not used for anything, and they mount Leupolds not Nightforce scopes - however, with a simple concept people can have a lot of fun building a great shooter...

Spooky

unfortunately, I just had to send the scope back to Leupold.  Particles floating around the reticle within the tube.......not too happy about that.

WHY do you ask so many questions? this is a picture thread...POST SOME PICS!!!  WHY dont you buy me a Troy front sight? I cant afford it myself this very second, im buying a house. WHY dont you buy me the new light mount that you think I should be using? I will sell it on the EE, and use the funds to go towards the front sight. (mine works just fine, thanks)

The barrel is 18"  it probably looks longer because its a mid-length gas system. (No gasblock between the handguard and the barrel collar)

Im editing the thread title to SPR(ish) so not to offend any SPR purists

Looks to me like he's got a YHM flip up front sight/gas block. Similar to this one.

About as close as I will probably come to building an SPR-ish configured rifle.    I just can't justify putting the kind of money into an SPR if it's only gonna fire 223Rem.     Maybe a 6.5Grendel but I have an AR10 so I'd rather just stick to 308Winchester, 260Rem if I had to do something custom.

My AR10 about as blinged out and SPR as it is gonna get unless I move out of Ca. to some place where I can lay hands on a suppressor,

Think it will work nicely on the AR10, 4.5-14x so it should have a decent lower range magnification for general purpose shooting while still having a decent upper end.

I also couldn't have possibly low mounted it any closer.    Badger Ord medium rings on the top of the SIR puts the bottom of the lens cover only 1-2mm above the lower rail.    If it didn't work I was gonna have to put the 4.5-14x40mm on the rifle instead.

What's gonna hurt is shipping off 4 Leupolds to Premier to get the Gen 2 XR.

IIRC, that is the "ADCO - M700Police version" of the SPR.  It was one of the most popular versions that ADCO sold for a while.

This is an SPR-ish RECCE (in the rear): 16" v/s 18" in 6.8SPC with a TA11E built almost 2yrs ago.. You don't want to the target at 300M+ and that is with the latest Remington 115gr OTMs. I have some 115gr SMK inbound to try out. Haven't seen termianl ballistic yet for this loading.

I ordered this rifle with the ultra-lite barrel based on my suspicion that you don't need a heavy rifle to be accurate.  This rifle without optics weighs only 6.5lbs!

Suspicion confirmed!

These two were purchased with tax payer money so they belong to everyone at AR15.COM (if you pay your taxes hotographed
One of the soldiers told me the longest shot they had to date of the photo was a 670 meter first round head shot. They also stated that the days for these rifles were numbered. They were anxiously awaiting SR-25's for replacement of these.

So yesterday, but sentimental nonetheless.

The upper is a real Crane contractor built SPR.  There are a lot of special parts you can't see from the outside.  Still needs an Ops Inc suppressor to finish it off.  Some parts need upgrading, but I am keeping it this way for replica sakes.

I think it's kind of sexy when stripped down.

I photographed these weapons during OIF 1. These weapons belonged to a couple of SF soldiers that I was flying on a Blackhawk with. We had some down time on the helo pad at Babylon, Iraq enroute to Baghdad so I thought I would take some pics. These rifles were built on M16A1 Hydromatic lowers with auto-semi-safe selector options. Scopes were Leupold. Barrels were heavy free float. The silencers were Knights Armament if I remember correctly.
