The MRP? That's probably out of my price range. Plus, if anything, I thought I might go a little longer than 11.5", rather than shorter. |

An 11.5 can only run on a standard carbine gas system. -- or the gas system would be longer than the barrel

Model 1 Sales offer 11.5", 10.25" and 7.5" chrome-lined uppers. I'm probably going to go 7.5" just for shits and giggles. Alternatively, you could get a regular 16" and cut to whatever length you want. If you cut down a longer barrel, you may have to monkey with the gas port size though (an adjustable gas tube may be a wise investment).

so I could do an 11.5" barrel with a low profile gas block and still use a midlength rail?

I've seen 7.5", 10.5", 11.5" and 14.5". A 14.5" with an A2 FH is still an SBR.

10.5" barrel with 9" mid length will look kinda like that.
