a NIW Colt is like 380bux. Does any other company offer this style cheaper or at all?

Considering S.A.W. sells regular Colt 14.5" barrels for $500, these heavy SOCOM barrels are a steal at $380. Last year they were going for around $800.

I was thinking that someone mentioned a heavy-style 14.5" barrel by a different manufacturer, but I don't rember if it was an M4 profile, nor do I remember who makes them.

I got one and everyone I talk to says that is a great deal.  Get one and never look back.  Excellent service got mine from Alaska in 3 days!

There have been several "lightly used" ones in the EE recently for around $200. I know skich had them for a bit. I ordered one and the thing is beautiful. Bore looks brand new.

Good luck.

Boy did I luck out, I picked up a NIW COLT SOCOM 14.5 barrel a few months ago for $250. If id of known that they were worth at least $380, I would of bought a dozen.

What are you trying to do- M4 looks with more meat under the handguards?  If you don't need the M203 slots, or would a Hbar profile with the M4 stepcut up front work?

I'd make my own from an HBAR, but the only 1/7 HBAR I can think of is the special run Bushy awhile back - but you wouldn't have the bayo lug, so a FSB swap would be in order if the lack of bayo lug was a breaker.  Hell, I'd even put the M203 slots in it just for shits and giggles.  By the time you pay for all that work, you'd be damn near the Colt price, though.

I like the bottom one, that is what I would wanna get. If bushmaster says they will take too long, I may still try and hunt down a different one, Im jus not goin to spend 380 on a COlt barrel. as good as they MAY seem, that is too much IMO>

How much did the Bushmaster barrel run you? What exactly did you decide on (barrel and profile I mean)?

Again, good luck on the endeavor!
