I am about to purchase a new Colt.  Here is the decision that I am trying to make.  Go with the Colt LE6920, Law Enforcement Carbine or the Colt AR6721 A-3 Tactical Carbine?

The LE is the M-4 variant, with a 1:7 twist at 5.9lbs. vs the A3's 1:9 twist at 7.0 lbs.

A lighter rifle is nice, and yes it will have to be carried for extended periods sometimes, but we are only talking one pound.  But the twist rate?  I've read the comparisons.  

Just don't know.

Well I purchased the LE6721 and then went back and got the LE6920 the next day.   I'm a newbie to AR15s and can't really comment on the differences that I perceived between both guns when I shot them.  Each was flawless and since it was the first time shooting an AR15 I can't say that one of them was more accurate than the other.  I used the same ammo in both guns.  I did have a heavier grain round but I didn't try it out on my first range session.  It is still within the range for both guns to be able to shoot it so I don't expect to have a problem (68 grain I believe).  I don't carry my ARs so I didn't even notice the weight difference.  

Guess the only input I have is that BOTH Colts functioned 100%.

Basicly comes down to the roll mark, the 203 barrel cut of the 6920 or the heavy under the handguards for the 6721
Myself? I prefer the 6721, well, that is unless the 6920 has a 14.5 inch barrel with a permanent phantom

I prefer 1/7, plus the 6920 weighs 16% less, so it was a no-brainer for me.

6920.  The weight difference will allow you to add a light and optic and keep it under 10 lbs loaded.

I own both the 6920 and 6721 uppers and like them a lot. The 6920 has the advantage of being able to handle 75gr ammo, which is my defensive ammo of choice. It is also a tad lighter if that's important to you (it's not a big issue with me).

The 6721 is a tad nose heavy, but it's a wonderful shooter. After resisting the urge for months I finally bought a complete 6920 and I'm pretty happy that I did.
