I bought this MT6700 at a auction over the weekend, it came with a firing pin in a bag, the original front fore arm assy, the hand grip, and the wrench. I am curious about the fore arm assembly that is currently on the weapon and wanted to know if the barrell needs to be removed to place the weapon back to its original configuration. I cannot see any other way that it would come off. I don't have a manual for it yet although Colt is sending me one. Is the wrench used to remove the barrell and is it difficult to do? What are your opinions of this weapon? I contacted Colt and all they could tell me is it was mfg in 97. Any info would be appreciated.

That looks like a one piece free floating aluminum HG.  Removal will involve removing the barrel.  There is a nice description in the "Build It Yourself" section.

Welcome, and a fine choice .
