There aren't more because the ammo is relatively expensive, hi-cap mags are relatively rare, and the capacity of a similar-sized mag is about half compared to a 9mm. Also, 45 ACP ammo starts LOSING velocity when barrel lengths exceed 10". It's optimized for shorter barrels, and maxes out at about 7-8".

Maybe get a FAB-10 lower, a 45ACP upper, and see if you can convert it to hold 45acp. Dunno. Just throwing out ideas.
Love my 45ACP AR though. Far left. I am thinking of SBR'ing the sucker and making it a 10.5"

The camp Carbine was a great litle rifle. Cheap but cumbersome hi-caps could be had. Only half were reliable, but for the price you could aford to buy all you want.
When I chrono'ed the bullets comming out of mine they gained about 150fps. I guess if you shoot shit ammo from Winchester it might loose velocity, but good ammo will gain. I chrono'ed IMI, MFS, Fiocchi, and my handloads that duplicate the velocity of Fiocchi and MFS. (Both made by MFS). |
