I'm now torn between building a dissipator AR or a 20" AR. How much different is a dissipator compared to a 16" AR.? I ask because I have an A3 16" and want another AR. I'm looking at complete uppers from Del-ton, Model 1 Sales & J&T Distributing.

Compared to a 16" vs 20" a Dissy gives you the best of both worlds. You get improved site radius in a compact, handy rifle.

I'm starting to think that I need to add a Dissy to my collection-it seems like an ideal SHTF platform.

I'm going to refit my "classic looking" 16" mid, to a dissy with low profile gas block, and use 2pc railed hand guards.  I think it will be cool.

Then I can put  on 3 flash lights, 2 lasers , range finder, iron sight, satelite dish, T.V. remote, beer bottle opener and a grip. I'll be soo kewl,  and a much better shooter, and eveyone will envy me.

O.K., so they won't, but it will still be a nice config.

16" midlength is the way to go.
