My old Colts have a nice firing pin retaining key, not the cruddy cotter key where the ends seperate and they can be hard to get back into the other side of the bolt.  

Why did they change from this nice design?  And where can I get some of the older style keys?

If you get the Colt split pins they are not hard to put in like the after market ones from some places.
