Recenlty saw two Colts AR's at a local shop. One was marked M4 it had the removable carry handle with m2 sights the other had fixed carry handle.  Both had colapsable stocks and what appeared to be identical 16inch barrels, except the one marked m4 had a flash hider with slots only on the top 120degrees  the others flash hider had slot all the way around. Prices were 1299 for the m4 and 1099 for the other.

Forgive my ignorance but what was I really looking at and what is a fair price for either of these. Oh, the m4 was new the other used.

What kind of markings were on the lower receiver? Sounds like the M4 was a LE6920. The 6920's are commanding a premium recently and if it was one, it was a good buy at 1299 in light of recent prices (though I wouldn't pay that price for one).
