I have an upper receiver, flat top, got it from a store new,  but I'd like to identify the manufacturer.

The only thing on the upper at all is an "M" on the front of the reciver, right above the delta rings and on the flat top front.

Is this model 1?

I'm concerned its a vulcan!  How can you identify a vulcan upper?

It's made out of crappy plastic.

well, it appears to be aluminum, but I've never held and touched a Vulcan that I know of, so would it be that obvious?

Has anyone ever seen "M" on an upper like that ?

my other uppers are DPMS  and Colt...so this is new to me...
