I have them in stock but not yet on the website. Same price as the 1st model. Plenty available. I should have them up on the website tomorrow.

Denny, do you think these are better then the Gen 1's. I've been looking at buying a couple for my AR's and just wanted some input now that I've found these. Thanks.

Are they made of steel or aluminum? Ive seen the 1st gen steel rip the shit out of the reciever!
Myself I never found a need for extending it anyway & I dont have any problems doing malfunction drills with the stock charging handle! It seems like a cure to a non existant problem! |

Funny. I have the Gen 1 on 3 receivers with thousands of rounds through each. There's less wear on each of those 3 than on 2 other receivers with the standard latch that I rarely use. |

Yes! you have a valid point, I have done all shooting up to 200yrds with iron sites but I realise many people these days are hopping on the gadet bandwagon. I always believed in the K.I.S.S principal. The botton line is if you need it, or just want it, Go for It! I might even try one of the new ones if it's not made from steel, I think the 1st gen ones may have had rough edges & thats why they rip up the recievers notch |

Two of my uppers have been ripped to shit with a Gen 1 latch-a Colt and a Rock River:  It is far more than mere cosmetics, the RRA upper had to be replaced after the charging handle wouldn't lock properly due to excessive wear. Fortunately I caught the Colt in time and ditched the latch. If any more material had been removed from the Colt it would have needed replacement as well. |

PRI military big latch, huge improvement over stock and doesn't hang up on stuff.

I like it a lot actually, although I like the Troy Industries backup irons a lot too.

The new Badger Ord tac latches are steel as are the PRI. I will weigh one of each and post the weights.

Good reason to use the bolt release instead of the chargin handle? After installing the PRI latch I notice a much better smoother operation immediately. |

As I understand it, it is not just the Badger Tac-latch, but ANY latch that sticks out far from the reciever. It causes the latch to pull out and back instead of just back, causing undo wear. I guess the Badger is steel and PRI stuff is aluminum??? That may be it too. |
