How much does Armalites fiberglass free float tube weigh in rifle and CAR length?

The one I have is heavier than a standard aluminum one, because it's constructed of green fiberglass over aluminum. The newer ones have been said to be just fiberglass.

I don't know the weight but I just bought an Armalite upper with the FF handguard.  it is and Aluminum tube with Fiberglass over the outer part.  I want to put some rails on the handguard itself but don't want a fiberglass spintering mess.  I know that I could spend 120-400 bucks on a new handguard with rails but I would be happy with a top and bottom rail on this one.

Any suggestions?
