Must I remove my barrel to apply a full floating handguard to my carbine? I am interested in the daniel defense or larue.

Not always, it depends on which FF fore end you want to install.

The Troy MRF, ARMS SIR and KAC RAS II all free float but do not require removal of the barrel for installation.  The MRF and some versions of the SIR will require you to cut off the delta ring assembly.
